Help Files

Everyone needs help once in awhile. The trick is to provide an easy-to-use, easy-to-find, context sensitive, interactive help system for your product or service. Help can be provided in many different ways, depending on the type of product or service, and the preferred method of providing the help.

Help files can provide information as compiled "pop-up" help files from the inside of a software application; as interactive HTML or other web-based pages on the Internet or a company Intranet; as a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page or list; and even video or audio clips. In many cases, the help files are simply training aids to help the customer learn to use the product or service.
